Early Christmas presents

Mum an Dad let me open some early Christmas presents before we fly off to Grandma Sherry's house for Christmas. This is a dress from my Aunt Mary. I think I l;ook very pretty in it!

And Grandpa Bruce and Val got me a fairy princess costume! Now I don't have to dress up as a dinosaur all the time!

OK I didn't get the horse for Christmas. But I want one. Can I have one Daddy? Can I please?

Let it snow let it snow let it snow

It started snowing in London yesterday, timing which was at best incongruous and arguably somewhat ironic for those trying to hammer out a climate change protocol in Copenhagen.

Prompting the question: where does snow come from?

Mum told me it was Frosty the Snowman spreading magic dust across the land, to remind all the little children to be on their best behaviour because Santa is coming soon.

Dad told me it is precipitation of airborne water vapour condensing into microscopic droplets which lose energy in contact with the cold air and consequently crystallise into a unique lattice structure.

I think Dad makes much more sense!

Winter coat

Starting to get chilly in London...

Granda came down last week and was working around the house.  I was very helpful to him.

Gran brought lots of Scottish things for mum and dad to eat and drink.  I might have some Tennents too...

Hello Basil

I like your chariot.  It's very smart.

Can we go in the swing together?  I'm glad we have our very own slave to push us.

At the park

I pushed Basil in the swing.  I think he really liked it!

I liked it even better when we could swing together side by side!

THe climbing frame was quite scary - but I managed it!

Autumn Fun

Out in the garden raking the leaves with mummy.  There's Basil in the garden too!

I am being a very helpful girl picking up the leaves:

And I also get to play in them!

But how did these leaves end up on Basil's head?

I wonder....

Obligatory Hallowe'en Cuteness

I'm getting my money's worth out of that dinosaur costume.

Basil was a particularly fearsome pirate.  Piracy is no laughing matter, Basil, tut tut.

Basil has taken up the chewing of carrot batons.  Looks like those teeth are not far away...

Basil + Food

= 1 happy baby

Mum decided to start feeding Basil some mushed up food, even though he's only 4 months and they say you're supposed to wait until 6 months.  But he was hungry all the time and drooling at the mouth a lot, and at his last weigh-in he was below average so mum decided to give it a try with a morsel of mashed banana.

At the first taste, he was uncertain as to what was going on, but after three seconds he seemed to decide he loved it and grabbed a hold of the spoon and wouldn't let it out his mouth.  So we gave him a wee bit more and a wee bit more after that.  He had a quarter banana that way.

He's been getting gradually more and more baby stuff over the last few days and now he's on three squares a day: creamed porridge for breakfast, spinach and potato bake for lunch, chicken and carrot supreme for tea.   (I tried some and it was yucky, although I like the apple sauce he gets for dessert.)  He's still getting plenty of milk too though.

He loves meal time and always gets stuff all over his face.  He is also far better at sleeping through the night now too.

So it seems a love of a hearty meal runs in the family around here
